11th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off

Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA), which aims to encourage people to cultivate empathy for animals and move toward a plant-based (vegan) diet, will host the 11th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, Feb. 8, 6-8 pm, at the Great Hall in Coffman Memorial Union, 300 Washington Ave. SE.

Chili and cornbread will be provided. All food will be vegan (no animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and honey). The cook-off has two categories: community and professional. The first 300 attendees will get a free Kakookies cookie. People with all kinds of diets are welcome.

Advance tickets are $2.50 for students and $5 for community members. Prices double at the door. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the best food selection.

The event space is ADA-accessible and sign language interpretation will be provided for the awards ceremony. Tickets and info, including how to enter or volunteer: exploreveg.org/chili.
