Tuesday, April 2-Wednesday, April 23, The Main Cinema, 115 SE Main St. MSPIFF44 kicks off April 2 with a showing of “Free Leonard Peltier” at 7 pm. Using a mix of contemporary interviews, archival footage and AI recreations, Jesse Short Bull and David France bring alive the energy of the times, when the American Indian Movement (AIM) was rising up to protest centuries of injustice and oppression, and the US government was pushing back hard. Sunday, April 6 will feature a conversation with Director Ang Lee, followed by a screening of “Brokeback Mountain.” See the complete lineup of more than 20 films and buy tickets at MSPIFF.org.
