Archaeology Up Close – Early Makuria Project

Magdalena Srienc from Poland will discusses the state of Polish archaeology in Sudan and her participation in the Early Makuria Research Project, Saturday, Dec. 15,  3 pm, at Riverplace, Garamond Conference Room – Suite 145, 43 Main St. SE. The event is free.

Polish archaeologists are one of the leading group of experts in the Near East as well as northern Africa. Of these regions, Nubia in Northern Sudan is at the forefront of Polish Archaeological research. The rich and dynamic history of Nubia allows for diverse Polish archaeological missions that  excavate monasteries, pyramids, and tumulus cemeteries.
