May 22, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
The year was 1905, only five years into a new century and twelve years after the 1893 Columbian Exposition. The setting was the northeast corner of Hennepin County, the largest, most populous of the seven metro counties. The concept was simple – a contest – in which the most talented architects of the Upper Midwest submitted design plans for a quality home that could be built for $1,500 combining luxury, elegance, utility, and affordability.
Urban historian Kathy Kullberg will host a presentation on the history of Architect Avenue. This event will take place via Zoom on Saturday, May 22, at 1 pm. The presentation will also be broadcast on Cable Channel 16. Registration is required. To register, go to https://www.columbiaheightsmn.gov/community/architect_avenue.php. This presentation is part of the Columbia Heights Centennial celebration.
