Event Navigation
The Ard Godfrey house, in Chute Square, Central and University avenues NE, will be open for tours, Saturday, Aug. 10, 1-4 pm (last full tour at 3:30 pm). The house is the oldest remaining wood frame house in Minneapolis, first occupied by Ard Godfrey, a millwright, and his wife Harriet in 1849.
Costumed volunteers from the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis will guide tours for a glimpse what life was like for early City founders. There will also be activities for children. Tours are free, but donations are welcome. The house is partially wheelchair accessible. Call Muriel, 612-781-8791, for special arrangements and group tours.
