The Northrup King Building, 1500 Jackson St. NE, in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, will have its 19th annual Art Attack, Friday, Nov. 4, 5-10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, noon-8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 6, noon- 5 p.m. The theme for the free event is “It’s About Peace and Love.” In response to the current political climate, the Northrup King Building is choosing to promote peace and love through visual art, interactive art activities, writing, and music.
Participants can browse and buy art from the private studios of more than 250 painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, jewelers, clothing designers, textile artists, glass blowers, ceramists, custom furniture makers, and more. There will be music by Mare Lennon, art demonstrations, and food trucks throughout the weekend. Visitors can visit the Third Floor Gallery (#332) to share their thoughts about peace and love, which will be assembled into an installation.
On Saturday, the Northrup King Building is joining forces with Jane Elias from Simply Jane/Artable to create a large 1960s style Peace and Love mural. Visitors can participate in painting the mural or paint their own canvas and share the peace and love. For more information, visit www.northrupkingbuilding.com/artattack.
