Event Navigation
As short as the days are now, it’s great to know the solstice is just around the corner. What better way to celebrate than with your fellow community members and with song, snacks and warmth? The 2019 “Bring the Sing on the Solstice,” will take place Saturday, Dec. 21, at The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Park, 1221 Theodore Wirth Pkwy. This event is free and open to all ages, and marks the perfect occasion to welcome in winter. The Current and Classical MPR are teaming up to bring this event to life, and have a lineup of special guests including Cameron Kinghorn, Jerry Rubino, Dan Newton, Kith & Kin Chorus and others to kick off the longest night of the year. The event runs 4-8 pm, and will be held inside at the park’s Trailhead. There will be refreshments and activities for all ages, from Classical Kids Story-time to Beer Choir. Last year’s Bring the Sing on the Solstice was the first, and 700 community members came together throughout the night to celebrate the solstice. They’re hoping to continue this fun tradition and extend a warm welcome to the community to join them for this fun evening of song and celebration.
