Casket Arts open studio event

Casket Arts, 681 17th Ave. NE, will have Open Casket, its annual fall open studio event, Friday, Oct. 7, 5-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, noon-8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 9, noon-5 p.m. More than 50 tenant artists will open their studio doors and exhibit new work.

Participants at the free event can meet local artists, listen to live music, and wander the halls of the historic Casket Arts Building. A full lineup of folk and americana bands will play in the fourth-floor lobby. There will be a closing reception for Grupo Soap Del Corazon, a group show going on at Franconia in the City’s gallery. Local Franconian Peyton Scott Russell will also have a giant outdoor mural in progress in the courtyard. There will be food trucks, live demonstrations, art activities, and guest artists.
