Potekglass will host one class and two open studio events on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2505 Howard Street NE. Register at https://potekglass.com/classes.
Open Torch 1:30–5:30 pm. 4 hours on their equipment with a set of student tools. Certification needed to participate. Not certified? Sign-up for a Try-iT! Class. Lots of experience – just not at Potekglass? Call or email Malcom at info@potekglass.com or 612-281-7243 to see if it’s a good fit for you. $35 non-members / $25 members
Open Kiln 1:30-5:30 pm. 4 hours on their equipment with a set of student tools, table workspace and quarter shelf portion of 24″ round kiln to fire your projects. Certification needed to participate. Not certified? Sign-up for a Try-iT! Class. Lots of experience – just not at Potekglass? Call or email Malcom to see if it’s a good fit for you. $35 non-members / $25 members
Glass Menagerie – Fish Try-iT 10 am-1 pm. An introduction to sculpture on the torch. Using Boro color and clear rod, students will learn the fundamentals of creating shapes into small animal sculptures. Students in the Glass Menagerie – Fish class will learn seals, how to tune a gather and smash, heating out tool marks, and how to work with and strike colors. $95 non-members / $69 members
