Columbia Heights Fire and Ice Plunge
January 28, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Event Navigation
Now in its third year, the Columbia Heights Fire and Ice Plunge for Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) will be Saturday, Jan. 28, noon-3 p.m., at the Silver Lake Swimming Beach, 4305 Stinson Blvd., adjacent to the southwest corner of Silverwood Park.
Participants can help the community by jumping in a nice “warm” lake. Each jump costs $40, which SACA can use to buy 320-350 pounds of food; enough to feed a family of four for a month. Participants can increase that amount by getting sponsors.
There will be a DJ, hot chocolate, coffee, hot cider, domestic beer, and craft beer and cider from Sociable Cider Werks, Fair State Brewing Cooperative, 612 Brew, Northgate Brewing, Insight Brewing, and Inbound BrewCo. The Chicks on Wheels food truck will provide food. There will be a large heated tent to warm up in, fire pits, and heated changing tents for the plungers.
Sign-up is available at the event, but advanced registration is preferred. Registration is online at www.fireandiceplunge.org. All of the money raised stays in the community. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/Columbia-Heights-Fire-Ice-Plunge-sponsored-by-NE-Bank-857626914301746/?fref=ts.
