The City of Columbia Heights celebrates its 100th Anniversary with the annual Jamboree June 23-27. On June 23, the Tasty Pizza Medallion Hunt begins. Clues posted daily, 11 am & 5 pm at Tasty Pizza and on Facebook. $1,000 prize. Active Agers Jamboree Bingo will take place 2-3 pm at Murzyn Hall. Cost is $2.
On June 24, the Carnival opens at 5 pm and the Lions’ Beer Garden will be open 5 pm-close. Jamboree Carnival $2 admission is per person, kids free, with paid adult. No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or dogs allowed. The June 25 Jamboree Parade runs from 6-8 pm. It begins at 45th & Central Ave., proceeds south to 40th Ave., ends at 5th St. The Lions Beer Garden will be open 5 pm-12 midnight. The Carnival opens at noon.
June 26 is especially active, with the Adult Softball Tournament at Huset Park, Jamboree Jammers with CH Recreation (registration required), Active Agers 55+ Mixed Media Art, Lions Car Show 5-9 pm (4 pm registration at Huset Park), Lions Beer Garden 10 am-12 midnight, Carnival 12 pm, Fireworks at dusk (if rain, Sunday at dusk).
Jamboree concludes June 27 with Adult Softball Tournament at Huset Park, Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast, 10 am – noon at Murzyn Hall, Carnival 12 pm-6 pm Family Fun Day free admission and Lions Beer Garden 12 pm – 6 pm.
