Winter Green Houses: Monday, March 3, 4:30-5:30 pm. CHPS Agriculture Specialist Melissa Trent will walk you through the process of constructing a small winter greenhouse from recycled materials; planting, labelling and caring for it. You will learn about five native plants that provide food sources and nesting habitats for pollinators and where to plant them. Take your greenhouse project home to watch through the winter months and plant your hearty seedlings in the spring
Puzzle Program (with exchange): Saturday, March 8, 10 am-12 pm. Register in teams of two to four people for a puzzle contest at the library. Complete a puzzle in the time allotted to be eligible for the prize drawing and bragging rights. Stay after completing your puzzle to meet and mingle with other puzzle enthusiasts and participate in a puzzle swap. Everyone who brings in a puzzle can swap for a new-to-them puzzle of their choice. All exchange puzzles must contain 300+ pieces and be in good condition. Space is limited and registration is required: call or email Adult Services Librarian Elizabeth at 763-706-3681 or eripley@columbiaheightsmn.gov to register.
Downsizing and Decluttering with AARP: Thursday, March 20, 11 am. Having too much stuff can impede people from relocating or getting health care into their homes. This engaging presentation explores why stuff is so important for some people and teaches practical, easy-to-follow tips on downsizing and decluttering. Learn how to get started!
Birding with Urban Bird Collective: Wednesday, March 26, and Wednesday, May 7, 5:30 pm at Kordiak Park, 1845 49th Ave. NE. Join Monica Bryand of Urban Bird Collective on March 26 to learn about the spring bird migration, what types of birds you might see in the area and how you can help. On Wednesday, May 7, join Urban Bird Collective volunteers at Kordiak Park to see the spring migration in action. Please bring your own binoculars; a limited number of extra binoculars will be provided.
