Family Storytime: Mondays, Sept. 20-Nov. 20, 10:30-11 am. Share books, songs, and rhymes with your children at this storytime designed to promote school readiness in 2- to 5-year-olds. Librarians, caregivers, and children will sing, talk, read, write and play together to build early literacy skills. Siblings are also welcome. Registration required. “Pods” should not exceed 5 total people.
Baby Read, Baby Grow: Thursdays, Sept. 20-Nov. 20, 10:30-11 am. (For infants ages birth to 24 months and their parents or caregivers). For infants ages birth to 24 months and their parents and caregivers. Meet us at the library for read-aloud stories, sing-a-longs, activities and lots of fun. Registration required. “Pods” should not exceed 5 total people.
Story Strolls: September 22-23, LaBelle Park. The Library is teaming up with Recreation to bring stories outdoors this fall. Large story pages will be placed throughout the featured parks. Gather your family to explore city parks, and read a story together as you walk along the park trails.
Family Discovery: Pollinate MN*, Saturdays, Sept. 25, Oct. 9, and Oct. 23, 11-12 pm. Learn about pollinators and their habitats while participating in hands-on activities in various parks throughout the city. Stay tuned for more information. For families. Registration required.
Hour of Code*, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 4-5 pm. Teens interested in learning more about Coding Club should drop in after school to try out coding and learn more. No registration required.
Coding Club*, Tuesdays, Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 26, Nov. 2-30, 4-5:30 pm. Coding Club is a place for youth to learn code while doing projects and challenges like making games, creating apps, robotics, building websites and more. Registration Required. For grades 5 and up.
Tiny Art Show, October-November. Showcase your artistic talents in the library’s first Tiny Art Show. Register to receive a mini art kit (a 3×3-inch canvas, easel, paint, and paintbrush). Submit your creation by Oct. 30. The Tiny Art Show will be on display in the library’s glass display case for the month of November. For participants ages 13+. Registration required.
