Cozy Up with a Book and Win: Jan. 10-Feb. 25.Read and rate books for the chance to win prizes. During the library’s Winter Reads program, adults 18+ can submit mini book reviews to be eligible for weekly prizes and the grand prize: a gift card to The Heights movie theater. Book review forms will be available at the library or on the library website. Book reviews may be shared in the library or on social media.
Conversation Circle for English Language Learners: Mondays, 5:30-6:30 pm. Conversation Circle is a casual gathering of adult English-language learners who meet at the library to practice their speaking skills in a group setting with help from an English-speaking volunteer. No need to register; just come when you can.
Embroidery: Experimenting with Stitches: Monday, Jan. 10, 5:30 pm. Learn different embroidery stitches and experiment with ways to mix, match, and combine them to make unique textures and looks. Once your sampler is complete, hang it on your wall to share your new artwork with family and friends. This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Registration required.
Art from the Heart: Monday, Jan. 31, 5:30 pm. Join Marie Olofsdotter for a session of card-making. Make a pop-up card, a card with unique folds, a gift card; learn how to add collage and embellish your cards in a multitude of ways. Play with pens, papers and words, come for the love of creativity and fun. This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Registration required.
Library Book Club: Book club is back in person. Drop in for a favorite book discussion or become a regular member. Book Club meets in the library at 10 am on the third Wednesday of each month. No registration required. Upcoming discussions include Jan. 19: “American Dirt” by Jeanine Cummins and Feb. 16: “My Beloved World” by Sonia Sotomayor.
