Creating Clay Snowflakes: A class for littles and their caregivers. Monday, Dec. 9, 10:30-11:30 am. Ages 1 to 5 are invited to craft creative snowflake tiles with their caregiver using white clay, a variety of stamping and texture tools and colorful clay paints called under glazes. Just like real snowflakes, no two tiles will be the same. Non-toxic materials that will wash out of clothes will be used, but please prepare for some messiness. Registration required.
Tinker Time: Waterless Snow Globes: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 4:30-6 pm. Build a winter wonderland in a jar Start by building and decorating a snowman from air-dry clay. Add sparkling snow, choose a decorative tree, and take home a snow globe that will never leak. Ages 7-12. Drop in anytime between 4:30-6 pm, no registration required.
Tinker Time: Watercolor and Salt Snowflake Art: Tuesday, Jan. 14, 4:30-6 pm. Create a frosty masterpiece with liquid watercolors, crayons, and salt. Learn a watercolor resist technique using crayons to draw snowflakes and watch as the magic unfolds. Ages 7-12. Drop in anytime between 4:30-6 pm, no registration required.
Arabic Storytime: Saturday, Jan. 18, 11 am-12 pm; Saturday, Feb. 15, 11 am-12 pm. All-Arabic storytime for children, 2-6 years old. Read, sing, move and create a colorful craft. Ignite your child’s curiosity and imagination in an immersive Arabic setting. Registration required.
Evening Storytime: Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5:30-6 pm; Tuesday, Feb. 18, 5:30-6 pm. Share books, songs and rhymes with your children at this storytime designed to promote school readiness in 2- to 5-year-olds. Librarians, caregivers and children will sing, talk, read write and play together to build early literacy skills. Siblings welcome. No registration required. Program continues, Mondays, Jan. 27 – April 28, 10:30 -11 am.
Intro to Glass Fusing for Families: Saturday, Feb. 1, 2:30-4 pm. Learn basic techniques to create stunning glass art pieces. No experience necessary. Finished work will be taken by the teaching artist to be fired in a kiln and returned approximately three weeks later. This program is intended for children ages 8+ and their grown-ups to participate together. Registration required.
Tinker Time: Winter Shrink Plastic Accessories: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 4:30-6 pm. Choose a wintry design or draw your own, then color it with markers or pencils. Watch your artwork shrink and turn it into a unique keychain, magnet, or pin. Ages 7-12. Drop in anytime between 4:30-6, no registration required.
Teen Programs DIY Teen: Tea Cup Candles: Tuesday, Jan. 28, 5:30-6:30 pm. Transform repurposed teacups into a personalized candle, experimenting with various scents and colors to create a truly one-of-a-kind candle. Each participant will make one teacup candle and have the option to create an additional candle using a different container. Ages 12+. Registration required.
DIY Teen: Boba Tea & Coloring: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 5:30-6:30 pm. Brew your own tea, add boba and milk (including dairy free milk), then spend time socializing, coloring, and enjoying your boba tea. Ages 12+. Registration recommended.
