Book Club: Wednesday, Sept. 15, 10 am: Discuss “Salt to the Sea” by Ruta Sepetys.
Poems in the Park: Friday, Sept. 17, 10 am-4 pm, at Huset Park West; Explore a city park and ponder classic poems, placed along the walking path.
Bike Fix-it Clinic, Saturday, Sept. 18, 10-11:30 am; Drop in for help with tune-ups, tire repair, changing tires, adjusting brakes and derailleurs, and any bike-related questions you might have. The bike fix-it station is located near the Heights library’s parking lot entrance.
Architect Avenue Walking Tour: Saturday, Sept. 18, 1 pm: Learn about the 1905 architecture contest that formed Architect Avenue in Northeast Minneapolis. Twelve local architects submitted unique and original designs for a total build cost of $3,000. In the end six homes (all of which remain today) were selected and built. Can you guess which home was the winning entry? This tour walks about 3/4 of a (flat and paved) mile and is guided by Kathy Kullberg. Space is limited and registration is required.
Building a Better Back Yard for Pollinators: Tuesday, Sept. 21, 6 pm; Learn how you can make a real impact for the fall migration of pollinators and birds, as well as during the next spring and summer seasons. Space is limited and registration is required.
