The 28th annual Dandelion Day celebration, Sunday, May 15, 1-4 p.m., at the Ard Godfrey House, located in Chute Square at the corner of University and Central avenues SE, will celebrate Harriet Godfrey’s introduction of dandelion seeds to the St. Anthony Falls area. Participants can tour the historic Ard Godfrey house, with hostesses dressed in 1850s period costume, and learn how to make dandelion necklaces, bracelets and crowns. There will be face painting and temporary tattoos of dandelions, complimentary recipe booklets, and free Godfrey buttons for the kids. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
Dandelion Day marks the beginning of the summer tour season at the Ard Godfrey House. Tours are available June 4-Aug. 28, Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. For more information, call 612-781-8791.
