Connect and Play/ Aprendemos Juntos: For children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Connect with your child during this drop-in program exploring early literacy activities. Teen Tech Workshop: Grade 7-12. Learn to design games using the Roblox Studio platform. In this workshop you will develop basic gaming and design principles to create your own game. Queer Voices Writing Circles: Join Queer Voices curators Sherrie Fernandez-Williams and Lisa Marie Brimmer as they facilitate writing circles, collective spaces for community building, knowledge, and sharing work. This space is not about critique, but about the admiration of the sentences and more generative moments in the writing process. Come with your writing tools and something yummy to drink or eat. Spend two hours grounding in the archive, responding to writing prompts, and sharing back in community. This is a drop-in writing group, online event. Link available on library website. Kwanzaa Stories with Auntie Beverly: Gather friends and family on the first day of Kwanzaa for stories told by Auntie Beverly. Make an mkeka (mat) with art supplies provided by the Walker Art Center. Celebrate the first Kwanzaa principle: Umoja (unity). Auntie Beverly (Ms. Cottman) has been telling Kwanzaa stories at Sumner Library for many years.
