To celebrate Older Americans Month in May, East Side Neighborhood Services, 1700 Second St. NE, will have a variety of free events on Tuesdays including educational and social programming; Vital Fitness, a drop-in group exercise geared toward older adults, 11-11:45 a.m.; Senior Dining by VOA, with a $4 suggested donation for those 60 and older, noon-12:30 p.m. (reservation are required three days in advance by calling Dawn at 612-787-4093); and bingo, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

“Keeping the Keys,” May 10, 10-11 a.m., learn how driving abilities change as we age, how drivers can compensate for age-based changes, and other practical suggestions.
“Better Nutrition=Better Brain Health,” May 17, 10-11 a.m., learn how active nutrition and skill-based habits for older adults and caregivers can improve daily functioning and thinking.
“Ice Cream Social and Sing-Along,” May 24, 11 a.m.-noon, a celebratory Ice Cream Social and intergenerational sing-along in acknowledgement of the many gifts of older adults. All ages welcome.
“Blaze a Trail Walk,” May 31, 10-11 a.m., blaze a trail through the neighborhood on a 1.5-mile morning walk.
