Events at Holy Cross

Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621 University Ave. NE, will present “Gestating Joy: An Advent Meditation,” Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7 pm. Dr. Erika Kidd, of UST Catholic Studies Program, will speak to the challenge of Christian hope and reflect on how believers must learn, with the Blessed Virgin Mary, to “hope in darkness,” to reach forward in active faith for that which cannot yet be seen. Adoration and confessions, 8-10 pm, after the program.

On Sunday, Dec. 23, at 3 pm, the church will have “A Tudor Christmas: Reverence and Revelry at the English and Scottish Renaissance Courts,” including a performance by the Rose Ensemble, which draws upon centuries of vocal music to create imaginative and inspiring performances, connecting audiences to stories of human culture and spirituality from around the world.
