The True Story About the James Gang: Saturday, March 25, 1-2 pm. Tom Ryther, former KSTP and KARE sportscaster, journalist and Northfield theatre enactor, will talk about the famous James-Younger Gang. As a native of Missouri, Ryther studied the history of the James-Younger Gang for decades, visited many James Gang historic sites and even got to know descendants of the James Family. Researching the History of Your Home: Saturday, April 1, 10-11:30 am. Learn about the historical resources at the library and across the county that will help you piece together a history of your Minneapolis house, neighborhood or property. Staff from Hennepin County Library’s Special Collections will explain and demonstrate resources, emphasizing online resources in the Digital Collections that will allow you to jumpstart your research from home – including permit records, maps, city directories, photos and more. This class is best suited for researching properties in the city of Minneapolis, though some resources will be countywide. Free, registration required.
Elements of Poetry: Saturday, April 8, 10–11:30 am. Learn about the fundamentals of poetry, including language, form and imagery. Poetry writing prompts will be shared.
