Free screenings and conversations about systematic inequality
Event Navigation
The MSP Film Society is partnering with John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, O Cinema, Magnolia Pictures, and FilmNorth to preset free screenings of three films that directly address the issues we are grappling with today: “I Am Not Your Negro,” “Whose Streets?,” and “Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am.”
The films were chosen because they speak to systemic inequality and serve as blueprints for effecting change. Following each screening, MSP Film Society Programmer Craig Laurence Rice will host conversations with community leaders to discuss ways to support social justice and anti-racism efforts.
The films are available to screen for free each Sunday for a 24-hour window. Audiences need to register in advance at MSPfilm.org. A secure link and password will be sent to registrants to view the films at home. The Community Conversations will be each Monday at 7 pm following the screenings. Registration can also found at MSPfilm.org. The discussions will also be streamed live, and available for later viewing, on MSP Film Society’s Facebook page: facebook.com/mspfilmsociety.
