Free Training for Tax-aid Volunteers
Anoka County’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) seeks volunteers to help seniors, low-income people, and people with disabilities file rent credit and property tax returns. No tax experience is necessary, but volunteers must pass a background check and attend a free training session at the Northtown Library either 12:30 to 4 pm, Thursday, April 4 or 12:30 to 4 pm, Thursday, April 11. The Northtown Library is located at 711 County Rd. 10, NE, Blaine.
Tax-aid volunteers are needed at sites in Anoka, Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, and Ham Lake, April 22 to July 25. Morning and afternoon shifts of three to four hours are available. An experienced tax volunteer will assist and support new volunteers at each site. All equipment and materials are provided, and mileage is reimbursed. To register for either the April 4 or April 11 training session, call Tricia at 763-324-1661.
