Hennepin County will have a free household hazardous waste collection event, Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 18-20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at 340 27th Ave. NE. Materials accepted include unwanted automotive wastes, household, lawn and garden products, batteries, and mercury-containing items.
