Huntington’s Disease Hope Gala

The Minnesota Chapter of Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) will hold its annual Celebration of Hope/Creating Hope: Art Show Gala, Saturday, Nov. 9, 4-9 pm, at Banquets of Minnesota, 6301 Highway 65, in Fridley. Appetizers and dessert will be available as well as a cash bar.
Anna Canoni, award-winning author and granddaughter of Woody Guthrie, who died from Huntington’s Disease, a fatal genetic brain disorder, will be the keynote speaker. The event will also feature an awards program to honor some individuals and families in the HD community, a silent auction with work from many notable artists in the Minneapolis community, as well as works by aspiring artists who have personal connections to Huntington’s Disease.
Organizers are still accepting art donations and have opportunities for sponsorships and advertising space. Tickets are $25 prior to the event and $35 at the door. Info: minnesota.hdsa.org.
