Interfaith Community Meals during Ramadan

The Minnesota Council of Churches, through its Taking Heart Program, is offering Interfaith Community Meals during Ramadan including meals at Masjid Al-Iman, 1429 Second St. NE, Saturday, May 11, at 6:45 pm, and at Masjid Alhuda – ICCC, 2534 Central Ave. NE, Monday, May 13, at 7 pm.

Ramadan is the month on the Islamic lunar calendar during which Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunup to sundown. Taking Heart has been bringing Muslims and non-Muslims together for food and conversation in this format for 14 years.

In 2019, mosques and Islamic community centers throughout the Metro area, and in greater Minnesota, are extending an invitation to their non-Muslim neighbors for a traditional Ramadan Iftar, or fast-breaking meal.
