“The 2020 Census will allocate a massive amount of funding and resources to the Northeast Minneapolis community — it is crucial that everyone is represented.” That’s the message from the CarryOn Homes team and Northeast Artist Witt Siasoco. They have created an art installation and will hold a series of artmaking drop-in activities at the corner of Lowry and Central avenues NE to highlight the importance of immigrant communities’ participation in the Census.
Participants can create a flag that will be added to a community art installation. COVID safe distancing applies and masks provided.
Dates and times: Saturdays, Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26, & Oct. 3, 10am–1pm and Tuesdays, Sept. 8, 15, 22, & 29, 4-6 pm. Info: carryonhomes.com or email witt.siasoco@gmail.com.
