Kolędy: Advent Lessons and Carols

On Saturday, December 18, 7 pm, the choirs, clergy, and staff of Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621 University Ave. NE, will present Advent Lessons and Carols. This time-honored tradition celebrates the Advent and Christmas seasons with scripture, beloved carols (kolędy) and choral selections sung by the choirs of Holy Cross. Though the tradition of Lessons and Carols has its origin in England, this particular version of Lessons and Carols will also incorporate the rich Polish heritage of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Music will feature carols in English and Polish, as well as choral music by Buxtehude, Handel, Manz, Goldschmitt, Willcocks and others. Admission is free, and the event is family friendly. A social reception will follow in Kolbe Hall.
