Event Navigation
Christmas is a cheerful time, but for many, Christmas is a reminder not of the joy but pain. Many people struggle with grief, loneliness, physical and mental illness, broken families, poverty, addiction, and many other reasons to not feel “merry and bright.”
Grace Lutheran Church, 1500 Sixth St. NE, and Intertwine Northeast are joining together to offer a Longest Night service – a time to come together in honesty and meditation, to make space for the reality of pain, and to offer each other words of comfort and hope – Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. Participants can join together in music, Scripture, stories, and sharing, facing pain together and reflecting on ways to find light in the darkness. There will be cookies and cocoa after the service. Whatever burdens may be weighing you down this season, everyone can join to find a space for rest.
