Columbia Heights Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula will host a “Mayor’s Town Hall: Hearing from Our Neighbors of Color & Healing Together,” at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE, Columbia Heights, on Saturday, March 27, 10 am-12 pm. Info: https://fb.me/e/GuP5Tgj0. The event is for people to hear BIPOC speakers from the community and wider area. This event hopes to help the city grieve the pain of racism and the death of George Floyd. “We also will hear how we can support our neighbors of color during the trial of Derek Chauvin. We hope this event helps us be a city that heals together so we can ensure all people feel welcome and safe into our community.” The event will take place on the east Huset Park ball fields; bring something to sit on (blankets or chairs) and masks. They will be physically distanced on the grassy field with the speakers under the shelter.
