Monarch Pledge Community Book Discussion with Mayor Márquez Simula

In celebration of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge, the Columbia Heights Public Library and Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula will host a citywide book discussion of the novel “Flight Behavior” by Barbara Kingsolver.

Residents are encouraged to read the book and join one of two discussion meetings over Zoom July 29 or Aug 3. Registration is required. The book is available in print, audio and e-book through the Columbia Heights Public Library.

Mayor Márquez Simula and the city are also looking for volunteers who want to help the monarch butterfly population and other species affected by climate change, diminishing food and habitat spaces, and pesticide use. Email monarch@columbiaheightsmn.gov.
