MTN offers tech training for older workers
The Minneapolis Television Network (MTN), which provides residents with the equipment, training, and space to learn how to use technology to publish their own content, is partnering with East Side Neighborhood Services (ESNS) and several local media colleges to offer qualified older workers the opportunity to learn video production and media technology.
While there are membership and training fees for the public, certain low-income older workers can get paid to learn at MTN through a partnership with ESNS’ Senior Community Service Employment Program. College media interns from accredited programs will be paired with older workers to jointly produce talk shows, local music, and spoken word performances. Workers will be trained on how to use lights, cameras, video editing, and audio production equipment, while helping community groups get their message out to a broader audience. Info: mtn.org.
