Nativity Lutheran Church’s Sustainability Outreach Team will present “Your Yard and Climate Change: Protect, Redesign and Rebuild,” a free gardening event, Saturday, April 13, 10 am-noon, at the church, 3312 Silver Lake Road NE.
Participants will learn how to help urban pollinator communities become more climate resilient and how to create and preserve their habitat in yards and gardens. Topics will include how to install a bee lawn, how to build a mason bee house with kids, and how and why organics composting is critical.
Participants can also get composting supplies and free native plant seeds, and can get help planning a resilient native plant garden. Everyone is welcome. Info: Donna Steinwand at 651-647-9002 or donnasteinwand95@gmail.com. Registration is not required.
