Northeast UMC offers classes on walipinis

Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland Street NE, will offer three free classes on walipinis (underground greenhouses). The church experimented with a walipini in the parsonage backyard, trying to grow food during the winter. Find out what they’ve learned. “Walipini: What? Why? How?” will be presented Thursday, March 21, 6-7:30 pm. “Walipini: Deconstruction” is set for Saturday, April 27 at 9 am.
