Get into the spirit of Halloween at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1621 University Ave. NE, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 7 pm. Join organist Sam Backman, sopranos Jill Severtson and Jessica Backman, and narrators, Fr. Spencer Howe, Nate Whipple, and Jeromy on the cusp of Halloween for a program that offers both a message on life, death, and life after death. The event is entitled, “Now and At the Hour of Our Death,” citing words from the traditional Ave Maria prayer. The program will feature masterworks by Guy Weitz, César Franck, Camille Saint-Saëns, Léonce de Saint-Martin, and Marcel Dupré. A reception will follow, and a brief reflection on works of visual art will be offered in conjunction. Event is free of charge and friendly for all ages. Info: www.ourholycross.org.
