Police Abolition Art Exhibit to Open in Minneapolis

Minneapolis collective MPD150 presents “Making It Real: Our History with Police and Our Future Without Them,” an art exhibit exploring the power and possibility of a police-free community. Opening Friday, Oct. 5, and running through Sunday, Oct. 21, the exhibit will be held at New Rules in North Minneapolis, 2015 Lowry Ave. N., and feature new work from Jacob Yeates, Sishir Bommakanti, Aja Marie Ussrey, Ali Abdirahman, and Sophea Ek. There will be an opening event on Friday, Oct. 5, 6-10 pm, with performances and a panel discussion. The closing event will take place Sunday, Oct. 21, 1-5 pm with a community discussion and resource sharing.
