Russ White: Harder Not Smarder

Russ White has maintained a studio in the Casket Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis since 2014. He and creative collective JOYCE have joined forces to present a pop-up art exhibition/13th birthday design party, Friday, April 28, 7–11 pm at 114 N 3rd St.  The artwork in the exhibition includes colored pencil drawings, hand-cut collages, screenprint editions, and a sculptural installation that ranges from 2019 to brand-new work – from the “Before” times on through a plague, an uprising, an election, an insurrection, a thousand other crises and everything “from a weird five years.” The event will feature a raffle for original art by JOYCE x Russ White. Bring a vinyl album to donate to JOYCE’s collection as your entry for a chance to win. Also featuring music, food, drinks, drawing stations for kids of all ages and a curated shop of interesting items from makers local and beyond. The exhibit is also viewable by appointment April 30–May 3 via sayhi@joyce.is.
