SACA Empty Bowls fundraiser

The Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) 17^th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser to fight hunger in the community will be Tuesday, April 23, 4-7 pm, at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. Guests are served a simple meal of soup and bread and take home a hand-crafted “empty” bowl as a reminder of those who are hungry in the community.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Spring Lake Park public schools, the Bach to Rock musical group, and dance groups from N’Motion Center for Performing Arts and Moore Than Dance. Rum River Art Center will have art projects for kids.

Attendees can bid on silent auction pieces including gift certificates to restaurants, Canine Coach, and R.F. Moeller, and tickets to the Guthrie Theater and the Science Museum.

Generous tax-deductible free will offerings are encouraged. All donations will go directly toward the purchase of food and essential items for those in need through SACA, a food shelf, thrift store, and community assistance program serving families in Columbia Heights, Hilltop, Fridley, Spring Lake Park, and the Columbia Park neighborhood in Minneapolis.
