David Housewright leads off Saturday, Sept. 14, 10:30 am-12 pm. A past president of the Private Eye Writers of America, Housewright is best known for his Rushmore McKenzie and Holland Taylor detective novels as well as other tales of murder and mayhem in the Midwest. He earned the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America for Penance as well as three Minnesota Book Awards for Practice to Deceive, Jelly’s Gold and Curse of the Jade Lily.
Alison McGhee presides Saturday, Oct. 12, 10:30 am-12 pm. She writes for all ages in all forms, from novels to poems to books for children. Her bestselling novel, Shadow Baby, was a Today Show Book Club pick, and her picture book for adults, Someday, was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Her work has been translated into more than twenty languages, and she has won many fellowships and awards, including four Minnesota Book Awards, the Geisel medal, a MacDowell residency, and several American Library Association awards.
