Family Storytime: Mondays, Sept. 12-Nov. 14, 10:30-11 am. Share books, songs and rhymes with your children at this storytime designed to promote school readiness in 2 to 5 year olds. Librarians, caregivers, and children will sing, talk, read, write and play together to build early literacy skills. Siblings are also welcome. No registration required, but room capacity is limited.
Story Stroll: Sept. 16-19 at Labelle Park. The Library teams up with Recreation to bring stories outdoors. Large story pages will be placed throughout the featured parks. Gather your family to explore city parks and read a story together as you walk along the park trails. Story strolls will be at the parks for 3 days, starting at 10 am on the first day and ending at 4 pm on the final day.
Tinker Time: Repujado: Tuesday, Sept 20, 4-5:30 pm. Brought to Mexico, Central and South America by the Spanish, repousse’ or repujado in Spanish, is a metalworking technique. Work with artist Gustavo Boada to learn the techniques of metal tooling and create a beautiful silver foiled picture. Ages 7-12. Registration required. Funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
