Native Plant Sale, Wednesday, June 15, 5-7 p.m., browse a variety of unique plants available for purchase through native plant vendors. Tour the gardens and see the wild side of Silverwood with Horticulture Supervisor Arla Carmichiel at 5:30 p.m. There will also be an art project. This program is free and open to all ages.
Walk with a Photographer, Wednesday, June 15, 8-9 a.m., or 6-7 p.m., grab your camera, join fellow photographers, and share shooting tips. All skill levels and camera types welcome. This program is free and open to all ages.
Make and Take with Puppets ‘n’ People, Wednesday, June 15, 5:30-7 p.m., make a bird puppet to take home and get a sneak peek at what the Puppets ‘n’ People’s artists are creating for the Things with Wings series at the end of July. This program is free and open to all ages.
Sun Print Embroidery Poems, Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m.-noon, at Silverwood Park, create a cyanotype (sun print) fabric piece, then embroider a favorite nature haiku or verse using simple embroidery stitches. The cost is $15. Reservations are required by June 15. This program is for ages 12 and older.
Kids’ Yoga, Saturdays, June 18 and 25, 10-11 a.m., playful, non-competitive yoga, including nature and animal poses. Each class includes stories, games, and fun. The cost is $10 for each class. Reservations are required. This program is for ages 6-11.
Art When the Moon is Full: Prairie Moon, Sunday, June 19, 8-9:30 p.m., discover Minnesota’s native prairies on a hike under the full moon. Make an art project inspired by prairie flowers and roast marshmallows at a campfire. The cost is $8. Reservations are required. This program is for ages 6 and older.
Solstice Celebration, Tuesday, June 21, 7-10 p.m., celebrate the longest day of the year at a rustically-adorned, woodland retreat, enjoy crafts, delicious bites, local music and a lakeside campfire. Bring your own wine or beer. The cost is $12 and reservations are required. This program is for ages 21 and older.
Sunset Yoga Series, Tuesday, June 21, 7-8:15 p.m., renew while practicing yoga with instructor Laura Craig. The cost is $12. Registration is requested but walk-ins are welcome. With a punch card, attend five times and the sixth class is free.
“The Art of Seeing Photographically,” Saturday, June 25, 6 a.m.-4 p.m., take your photography to the next level with John Gregor of ColdSnap Photography. Discover the tricks professionals use to produce stunning photographs through extensive fieldwork. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Silverwood Café. All skill levels are welcome. The cost is $125. Reservations are required by June 18. This program is for ages 14 and older.
