Silverwood Park activities
Silverwood Park, 2500 County Road E., in St. Anthony, is offering the following activities. For many activities, children must be accompanied by a registered adult. For reservations or more information, call 763-559-6700 or visit www.threeriversparks.org.
Sunset Yoga, Tuesdays, Dec. 20 and 27, and Jan. 3, 7 p.m.-8:15 p.m., renew while practicing yoga with instructor Laura Craig. Link breath with movement through a series of poses. Build awareness, concentration and strength by deepening the connection of mind and body. The cost is $12 per session. For ages 14 and older.
In the Park after Dark, Thursdays, Dec. 15: Winter Moon Monitors – Stargazing, and Jan. 19: Snowy Fun without the Sun – Kicksledding and Snowshoeing, 7-8:30 p.m. Discover fascinating things outside when the sun goes down. Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather. The cost is $5.
Candy Cane Hunt, Saturday, Dec. 17, 1-4 p.m., Santa’s elves have hidden candy canes outside – find three and get a prize. There will also be a horse-drawn wagon ride, warm treats, arts, and photos with Santa. Hunts for children ages 0-4 begin at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., hunts for children ages 5-10 begin at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $7 for those pre-registered, $9 the day of, and $2 for spectators. Pre-registration is available until 5 p.m. on Dec. 16.
Walk with a Photographer, Wednesday, Dec. 21, 8-9 a.m., grab your camera, join fellow photographers, and share shooting tips. This event is free.
Make and Mingle: Winter Solstice Celebration, Wednesday, Dec. 21, 6-8 p.m., illuminate the longest night of the year with a winter sky themed party. Create star-inspired art, peek through telescopes, sip warm beverages, and celebrate what makes this season great. The cost is $12. Reservations are required.
Pocket Monster Winter Survival Camp, Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 26-28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., leave the grown-ups at home and compare pocket monsters to real animals. Make a pocket monster ball and survive the winter with your pocket monsters in full health. Reservations are required by Dec. 21. The cost is $150 for three sessions.
New Year’s Eve Celebration, Saturday, Dec. 31, 5:30-7 p.m., create a festive hat, visit the photo booth with your family, and roast marshmallows. Reservations are required. The cost is $5.
