St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral Men’s Chorale in Concert

The full ensemble’s thirty-five members will present a concert on Friday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, 1629 5th St. NE. They will present a concert of church hymns spanning the rich history of Orthodox Christian music. Musical selections will be sung in English, and feature trios, quartets and the full ensemble singing in the a cappella style, without instrumental accompaniment. Gregory Ealy, the cathedral’s music director, will lead the ensemble. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and under 10 are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at bit.ly/svs-stmarys2016. The concert is a benefit for St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, Yonkers, N.Y., which is the premiere Orthodox theological school in North America. The Seminary’s chancellor, the V. Rev. Chad Hatfield will present a lecture after the concert during a reception in the cathedral’s community hall, across the street from the concert.
