Icebox Gallery owner, artist, and photographer Howard M. Christopherson presents the first gallery exhibit since the start of the pandemic, “Street Signs MSP: Protests and the Aftermath.” The 25-photo exhibit shows protestors carrying a variety of signs, protesters stopping traffic on I-94 at Cedar Avenue, a giant Trump balloon at First Avenue night club, a child drawing BLM on the street, George Floyd impromptu memorial, the day of and the day after the destruction of the Third Police Precinct at Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue, looters at the Lake Street Cub store, burned-out buildings and people walking through the smoke. Also included are images of the Northeast Minneapolis Second Precinct fortified with barb wire and sharpshooters from the National Guard on the roof. The exhibit begins Friday, May 20 during Art-A-Whirl® and continues through Saturday, Dec. 31 at Northrup King Building, 1500 Jackson St. NE, #443.
