Townhall conversation about community and race

A townhall discussion on community and race will take place 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Huset Park, 40th Ave NE & Jefferson St NE, Columbia Heights.

Tanya Moore, Kenny Moore and Kevin Moore will moderate the discussion. Invited speakers will be residents of Columbia Heights who are Black, Indigenious, Latino and other people of color. Community members will be invited to ask questions by writing them down on cards and turning them into the moderators.

Please bring a mask and remember to stay socially distanced in the park. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

* Bring a non-perishable donation for SACA Food Shelf! We support our community by showing up for those in need.

* Individuals who bring signs will be invited to tape them on their chairs or set them near their blankets.

* This will not be a campaign event for any candidate. Individuals are invited to come but not to share campaign literature or identify themselves as candidates. We ask you to come and speak only as citizens.

We recognize that this event is just a first step. We will encourage community members to get involved beyond this conversation.
