Vital Fitness, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., drop by for East Side’s Vital Fitness group, which meets weekly for a variety of exercises that improve balance, strength, and coordination. There is no cost to participate. For more information, contact Gloria at 612-787-4076.
Employment Orientation Meetings, Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 9:30 a.m., for low-income Hennepin County seniors, age 55 and older, who are interested in paid on-the-job training, specifically those with interest or experience as lunch room attendants, janitors, warehouse workers, security, care givers, and office workers. Tuesdays with EVA! Presents a free program: Meditation for Healthy and Joyful Living, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 10-11 a.m., at East Side’s dining space. Learn breathing and meditation techniques that not only decrease stress, but increase energy and joy, leading to an overall sense of well-being. Speaker Jim Nelson is a retired licensed psychologist and past Board President at the Meditation Center in Minneapolis.
A Matter of Balance, Wednesdays, Oct. 19-Dec. 7, 10 a.m.-noon, an award-winning, eight-week program on how to view falls as controllable, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, perform exercises that improve strength and balance, and set goals to increase physical activity.
