April 17, 2021 - April 24, 2021
Event Navigation
This year’s Earth Day 5K Bee Run/Walk/Biking event will be held as a Virtual Earth Week event Saturday, April 17-Saturday April 24. Supporting pollinators and celebrating the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, hundreds of participants are expected to either run/walk/ or bike the event’s traditional route starting at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis or other routes of their own choosing. Now in its sixth year, the Earth Day 5K Bee Run is hosted by the Great River Coalition, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, in partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the National Park Service, St. Catherine University, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Mill City and St. City Running.
The family-friendly event is designed to bring awareness to the plight of pollinators as well as to the natural beauty of Minneapolis parklands, especially the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, the only national park offering scenic views of the Mississippi River. As in previous years, participants are encouraged to dress in colorful, pollinator-themed costumes and post pictures on social media, and win prizes. Bring children, strollers, and well-behaved dogs to join in the fun.
Participants can register for the Virtual Bee 5K Run/Walk/or Bike online at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/60015, $25 donation fee. All paid participants receive Tech T-Shirts.
