Lineas de Sangre artist talk with Melodee Strong
"Lineas de Sangre" (Bloodlines) an exhibition of work by Melodee Strong will run through Saturday, Oct. 15 at NE Sculpture|Gallery Factory, in back of the Casket Arts complex, 1720 Madison St. NE. There will be an artist talk on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. and the closing reception Oct. 15 from 4-6 p.m.

Lori Lentz will speak about the ideas and inspirations behind her imaginative painting, and will conduct a demonstration, Saturday, Sept. 24, 11 am-12 pm, Pierre Bottineau Library, 55 Broadway St NE, Minneapolis. “Confluence”
Four varied styles of art flow together into one exhibit. The Northeast-based artists in Confluence approach their art from four different perspectives. The polymer clay works of Layl McDill and the ink and acrylic paintings of Anna Karena are on display until October 30, at Unity Unitarian Church, 732 Holly Ave., St. Paul. McDill creates sculptures from polymer clay and found objects. Northeast Minneapolis-based artist Ellie Kidder is seeking participation from women (including femme/transgender/non-binary) for a new art project funded by Minnesota State Art Board called Women of Northeast Minneapolis. The finished work will present a variety of stories about the communities the participating women are part of, in the form of writings and portraits.
