Kyriopoulos to read at Solar Arts
Marjorie Lin Kyriopoulos, the author of "HeartStrings," will read excerpts from her memoir and share how the trauma of her aunt’s untimely death worked its way into her heart, traveling through three generations of her family. Dreamsong, 1237 4th St. NE, announces the gallery’s first solo exhibition for Minneapolis-based artist Allison Baker (b. 1988, Detroit). Adorned with glistening teal tongues and bubblegum stucco, Abject Permanence is a fever dream that pops with color, kitsch, and a come-hither wink, teetering between salivating desire and queasy revulsion. “Confluence”

The polymer clay works of Layl McDill and the ink and acrylic paintings of Anna Karena are on display until October 30, at Unity Unitarian Church, 732 Holly Ave., St. Paul. McDill creates sculptures from polymer clay and found objects.
