War Reports: Labor Camp
Responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Piotr Szyhalski began drawing Labor Camp Reports once again. Much like the COVID-19: Labor Camp Report series from 2020, this new and ongoing body of work serves as a way of witnessing and recording the experience of “extreme historical phenomenon” unfolding in real time. Although addressing specific conflicts, many of the War Reports operate on a more universal level condemning war and militarism while drawing our attention to the plight of civilians and refugees. The Casket Arts Campus will hold its annual Fall Open Studios event, “Open Casket,” November 8-10. Flux Frost Fest
